Call for Posters and Demonstrations

We are accepting submissions of posters and demonstrations. The conference will provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss work-in-progress ideas and insights related to topics in graphics, human-computer interaction, and visualization.

Posters: visual presentations summarizing research ideas, early research results, design processes, or methods concisely and engagingly.

Demonstrations: interactive systems or prototypes showcasing innovative ideas and concepts. These typically include live presentations or performances that engage the audience through interactive demonstrations.

Submission Guidelines

All submissions should include a maximum 3 pages write-up (excluding references) describing the research work.  Submissions should use the single column ACM SIGCHI Paper Format. Templates are available for Microsoft Word, and LaTeX Overleaf. In LaTeX or LaTeX Overleaf, use the “manuscript” call to create a single column format. Submissions for review should be anonymized. Specifically, authors MUST remove their names and institutions from the manuscript heading, and they MUST NOT remove citations to their prior work. Submissions that are not anonymized, do not follow the length guidelines or are not in English will be desk-rejected.

The write-up should consist of a brief abstract, a clear description of the research problem or opportunity, and a description of the proposed solution grounded in relevant related works.  Please also submit accompanying videos when relevant.

At GI, Poster and Demo submissions are non-archival. In the spirit of idea exchange, we encourage you to submit relevant previously published work or work in progress that you intend to publish elsewhere. For published work, include the citation and identify the venue in the abstract. The poster and demonstration co-chairs will review submissions based on their relevance, originality, and potential contribution to the field.

  • Alongside the write-up, you should also include:
    • Posters: A sample poster designed to not exceed dimensions 4 x 4 feet when printed
    • Demonstrations: Please clearly indicate any additional setup or infrastructure beyond a standard conference table and a single (1) electrical outlet. Note the space requirements of your demonstration (e.g., 4 x 4 x 4 m2 ), lighting requirements (full, partial, dark), etc. Monitors and projectors are limited but can be requested. All computing items must be brought by participants (e.g., laptop, Head-Mounted Devices, cameras, sensors, etc.). Groups can request Volunteer support setting up but not presenting.
  • You are also encouraged to submit supporting files, such as videos or source code. Uploaded videos should be encoded in a high-quality format (e.g., MPEG-4) that works across as many platforms as possible without installing additional codecs. For instance, it is best if your video plays properly with standard Windows Media Player, Quicktime, or VLC player versions. Please note that your submission size cannot exceed 100.0 MB, including your submission document and any additional material. If you cannot comply with this limit, please get in touch with one of the poster/demo chairs.
  • Please ensure your submissions include accessibility considerations as per ACM guidelines found here: https://www.acm.org/accessibility
