Overview

The forty-first Graphics Interface featured invited speakers, Shahram Izadi (Microsoft Research) and Doug James (Cornell), both well known for their exemplary contributions to their disciplines. Scott MacKenzie (York University), was this year’s recipient of the CHCCS/SCDHM Achievement Award. The two dissertation award winners for 2015 were Michelle Annett (University of Alberta) — 2014 Bill Buxton Dissertation Award, and James McCrae (University of Toronto) — 2014 Alain Fournier Dissertation Award. GI 2015 also introduced the first Graphics Interface Speaker Series, sponsored in part by Microsoft Research. The inaugural speakers were Christopher Batty (University of Waterloo), Wilmot Li (Adobe Systems), Regan Mandryk (University of Saskatchewan), Joanna McGrenere (University of British Columbia), Ryan Schmidt (Autodesk Research), Daniel Wigdor (University of Toronto), and Jianxiong Xiao (Princeton University).
